2020 Federal & State Elections

NY State Senate

Jen Metzger, State Senate District 42

Jen Metzger was elected to the NY State Senate in 2018, and is running for re-election this year. She has the strong support of IndivisibleNY19 coalition member groups in her district including IndivisibleUlster, Move Forward New York and Ulster Activists, who are organizing actions on her behalf. She does not have a Democratic primary challenge, and will be running against a Republican challenger in the General Election.

Sen. Metzger and her staff are doing what she was elected to do:  serving her constituents.   With COVID-19 dominating the landscape, she is asking for volunteers to call seniors in her district.  The purpose is simple:  to ask how they are doing in the health crisis, to point them to her guide for COVID-19 questions, and to refer them to the staff for a return call if they express a particular need for services or other help.

These calls are not like a political call with an “ask.”  They are meant to connect, share, console, and assist if necessary.  You might find it a meaningful way to help in the midst of the coronavirus epidemic.
