IndivisibleNY19, our county-wide collaboration of Indivisible groups in New York’s 19th Congressional District, along with Planned Parenthood and Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation, organized the first-in-the-nation “Adopt A County” town hall Monday evening. As our own U.S. Representative, John Faso, refuses to attend public town halls to explain his vote for the American Health Care Act, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney from neighboring NY20 stepped in to answer questions from local residents concerned about how AHCA would adversely affect their access to quality health care.

The New Republic:  “Indivisible NY19, a local chapter of national anti-Trump activist group Indivisible, sponsored Maloney’s town hall on Monday. “If we played a small part in this ‘adopt a district’ trend, we’re happy to have been a small spark in that,” Dustin Reidy, a spokesman for chapter, told me. “I hope every single Democrat next door to a dead-beat Republican does this. … I think it’s good to show people what it would be like to have a congressman who cares.”
