Morning Meet Up
IndivisibleUlster’s Faso Friday group met once again last Friday to discuss strategy, meet another candidate for US Congress, and join the rally in front of Rep. Faso’s office in Kingston.
Today we were joined by Sue Sullivan, one of 8 Democratic candidates vying to challenge John Faso next year. Sue shared her story and then took questions from the group about her candidacy. Sue is a strong and qualified candidate with a long track record of business and not-for-profit work in the 19th congressional district.
We’ve been honored to be able to meet most of the Democratic candidates at our weekly breakfast gathering at Broadway Lights Diner.
12 Noon Demonstration
Organized by Citizen Action of the Hudson Valley, the weekly rally outside Faso’s Kingston office (Faso Friday Part 2) catches the attention of passersbys on Broadway with creative signs and a brass band playing resistance songs.
The crowds have grown in size as the summer has progressed. Word of the protest has reached the DC offices of John Faso, but unlike his predecessors, Faso has shown little inclination to engage with constituents outside of his Republican base and the cadre of lobbyists that enjoy privileged access.
Congressional candidate Antonio Delgado made an appearance to meet rally attendees…
As did Dave Clegg…
..and Pat Ryan.
Join us next week for another edition of Faso Friday. Because Democracy is not a spectator sport!
